Today was one of those gloomy "do-I-really-have-to-go-to-class?" days. I did not feel like wearing any of my clothes, but I'm the type of person who always makes a effort to put on a "real" outfit before leaving the house.
So after staring into my dresser for a good ten minutes I decided that the only thing I really wanted to wear were my straight-leg jeans and Jareth T-shirt. I tried on all my shoes with the outfit. Hated all of them. Plus my only clean hoodie was my faded black one, which tends to look overly plain with the shirt. So I was just about to quit and go in yoga pants when I remembered that I bought some Bean Boots for the snow/rain a while back, yet never took them out of the box. Surprisingly they looked incredible with the outfit. Not cliche tough, like Doc martens nor prissy like flats.
The outfit just kinda built on from there. I added fingerless gloves to make the multiple shades of black look purposeful, a broken golden ring (cameo fell off), an tiny golden owl pendent (to add a bit of dimension, since the Goblin King can change into an owl), a studded belt, pearl earrings since I was already mixing a bunch of metals, and eyeliner. Perfect waterline eyeliner.
I don't think I've ever felt so increadible in an outfit before. And everyone else *loved* it. It's bizarre since the outfit looks so odd in the set, but in person it's *perfect*. Five compliments, a comment about how they've never seen a graphic tee look so good, and someone at the coffee shop asking if I was a blogger kind of perfect.
